A lesson learned, thanks CBSsportsline.

I have revised this blog to show my appreciation for CBSsportsline's fairness with me in private conversation regarding an improper and off-topic post I made on the main CBB board a little over a week ago.

I will try to limit my posts on the boards to sports related topics as best as I can, and will post non-sports related comments on my personal blog.  I definetely don't want to have a repeat post in which there is a chance that I may offend anyone.

Thank you again Sportstline staff and moderators.

Sean.

CBS can say gay, but I can't

Nice blog..... If CBS wanted us to only talk about sports, they would have to ban every member on here.......

CBS can say gay, but I can't

I wonder what would happen if I started a thread about John Amaechi. . .

Did you talk to Coleridge about this ?

Maybe he can help you out by either deleting the warnings or giving you a straight up answer from an actual human, of why they gave you a warning and deleted your thread. Sometimes I don't think the people you e-mail at the help center are actually humans. They post the same exact paragraph of reasoning to everybody. Unless they just copy and paste it off of something.

There is no telling.  LOL.  I am glad to see that you rightfully got your TOP 1K and rating back Araker!

This is CBS's toy and their yard so they make the rules. As such, they can change the rules at any time or make them as hypocritical or arbitray as they wish.  Its their game and we are merely its players.

Your comment does have merit in my mind.  Was it offensive to you or I?  No.  Was it offensive to someone/anyone else in the CBS community?  Likely.  I think this is why CBS would make the comment.  I had a comment calling Jose Conseco the colloquial equivalent of a son born to an unwed mother and had my post deleted.

Whatever.

CBS is probably thinking, "Why is he making this an issue?" It's 2008. The issue will only go away if we stop making it an issue. It shouldn't be an issue anymore.

One difference in my post and yours.  Your post tried to compare Jose Conseco to an unwed mother as if that were a bad thing, and by doing so, you may have insulted anyone who is an unwed mother.

I did not use the word "gay" in a negative way.  I only asked a question to which nobody had to reply, but one in which they could sumbit a vote anonymously without insulting any specfic class of people or persons.

I'm not making this an issue on the main CBB board, but posting this on my personal blog so that those who do not want to see it or read it do not have to do so.
